Stars In Her Eyes Big Debut

I can't believe I forgot to post about the most important part of the journey. Last night, Stars In Her Eyes was read for an audience of the public and invited guests. My mom and a family friend came as well as my aunt who completely shocked me by coming. I had no idea she was coming.

It was neat listening to the actors read and the characters come to life. I think this piece is my favorite. It started as a quick story I wrote in a day and has evolved into a fun story of double crossing.

I do have a lot more work to do with it. I want to get below the surface of the characters. I feel like Watson and Derek are the only really fleshed out characters. I want to get deeper into the relationships of the girls. Why they do what they do. I think there could be a lot more to this and even bigger and better. I do like the idea of keeping it as a short, but who knows? There could be a feature somewhere in there.

Thank you again to everyone for their help with the story and helping it become even better. I'm excited about where it's at and look forward to expanding it even more.

  1. It was great fun, Megan! Congrats! I really enjoyed it, and it was fun to see the audience react and their laughter. I think one of the lines that got the best laughs was when Sam's character (Lindy?) says, "I don't know what's wrong with you, but that's Derek Holton."

Keep me posted on this. I would love to watch the work grow as you tweak it!
